This work was channeled through a grief portal, a deeply spiritual connection to my ancestor, and depicts a visual study theorizing the pathway of the Kali Yugas through fixed space/time. The piece embodies the cyclical nature of time as understood in Hindu cosmology, focusing on the gradual progression of the Kali Yuga—the age of darkness and decline—through the lens of both cosmic and human experience. The ancestral connection provided a unique channel, allowing ancient wisdom to flow through me, guiding the creation of a visual narrative that maps the transformation of the world across the vast continuum of these yugas. Through intricate symbols, shifting color fields, and layered geometric patterns, the work conveys the tension between the decay of time and the potential for renewal. It visualizes the flow of the Yugas through a fixed, yet ever-shifting, space/time matrix, reflecting both a spiritual descent and the eventual return to balance. The work serves as a tribute to ancestral knowledge and the eternal cycles of life, death, and rebirth, offering a meditation on our place within the grand, cosmic rhythm.
